I'm sure you're asking why. The truth of the matter is that in the summer of 2005, my local newspaper, the Chicago Tribune, began to run this little puzzle named "Sudoku". To solve it, one must follow two simple rules. Each box of nine squares must contain the digits 1-9, and each row and column must each contain the digits 1-9. Deceptively simple and completely addictive!
So, since that time, I have been pretty much compelled to finishing the daily puzzle. Every day.
One day, I was working on a Sudoku puzzle while also pondering a small project that I needed to do, making a small quilt square for a friend.
Suddenly, I realized that the completed puzzle would make a fabulous pattern for a quilt, and Sudoku quilts were born.
To make a Sudoku Quilt, we choose 9 fabrics and assign one fabric to each number 1-9. Then, using a completed puzzle as a pattern, we lay out the fabric accordingly.
We can also make the small wallhanging size using 9 men's ties. This would make a meaningful and beautiful memory quilt.
We can make a wallhanging for you, approximately 12" square, utilitizing either one of our completed Sudoku puzzles or one of your own.
The price for a completely finished small quilt, ready for hanging is just $39.99 US, including mailing anywhere in the US.
Also available is a full size quilt in this pattern.
